Cookie Policy
Information about cookies and similar technologies used by this website and its embedded services.
Last updated: 15 October 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies that may be used when you visit the Carlow Tyres Centre website. For details about other personal information, see our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored by a website in your browser. Similar technologies can store or access information in other ways. Cookies can be temporary (removed when the browser session ends) or remain until they expire or are deleted.
Cookies used by this website
The website does not currently use its own analytics or advertising cookies, and its JavaScript does not use browser local storage or session storage. The contact page starts a PHP session so it can validate the contact form’s security token. The server’s session cookie is necessary for that function.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
PHP session cookie (commonly PHPSESSID; the name may be configured by the server) |
Maintains the contact-form session and its anti-forgery security token. | Session cookie; normally removed when you close the browser. The server’s session settings may affect its lifetime. |
This session cookie is used only where the contact form session is started. The website’s tyre-size checker operates in your browser and does not use a cookie to remember your entered size.
Third-party services
Some pages load resources or embedded content from other providers. Google Maps is embedded on the Contact page; Google Fonts and cdnjs (for Font Awesome icons) are loaded for the website’s design, and some images are served by Unsplash. Connecting to these services may allow their providers to receive technical information from your browser and, depending on the service and its settings, use their own cookies or similar technologies. We do not control these third-party technologies or their retention practices.
Following a link to Google Maps or WhatsApp also takes you to that provider’s service, where its own privacy and cookie policies apply. You can find more information in the providers’ own notices, including Google’s cookie information and Unsplash’s Privacy Policy.
Managing cookies
You can manage or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may prevent the contact form’s security session from working correctly. Browser controls do not necessarily prevent third-party providers from receiving technical information when their content is loaded; you can avoid the embedded map by not visiting the Contact page or use browser privacy and content-blocking controls.
Changes and contact
We will update this page if our use of cookies or similar technologies changes. For questions, contact Carlow Tyres Centre at info@carlowtyrescentre.ie or on 059 910 8152.
